Birthday Celebration

Yesterday, most of us gathered in the Village Mall, SP to celebrate our 2 friends' belated birthdays... Seow May - 28th June... and Sue Shen - 30th June...

I didn't know what the plan was for the day... and when Sue Shen and me reached Shin Na's house... only I knew we were going to karaoke!

Okayyyy... I remember Tze Yang bringing Shiou Ting and Jia Min to karaoke too... so that they're no more karaoke virgins... lol

The last time I remembered I went to karaoke was with my family + aunt, uncle and cousins?? That was like when I was primary school or much younger!
So I guess that makes me a no more karaoke virgin...hahaha

But anyway... this time I got to sing!!!

So far never sang in karaoke yet...
Kinda nervous here!!!

So after fetching Seow May too, we met Phey Siew in Village Mall...
We shopped for awhile in Shop-A-Lot while waiting for Poornima and Jeevithra...
Then, off we go to K-Box!

Phey Siew wasn't here yet since she was busy buying some stuffs...

The girls were kinda busy choosing the songs... lol

And we managed to get a VIP room! Hurray for us!
It's really big compared to the other rooms...

So Poornima was our first singer... She can sing really well you know! She's well known for singing since primary school... and she won lots of competition too... =)
I thought that was story telling... but they said it was singing... @.@
My memory got jammed... haha

Her selected song was 'My Humps' first! Cool!

We had some problems with the mic since the beginning... didn't function properly... Can see from Seow May's expression also..lol... But in the end okay la....

Linda and Jo-Lynn... They came the latest and yet, the earliest to leave!

Oh my turn to sing...
Well... I can't sing very well... and I don't have high pitch voice... mind you =P
So I chosed an old song... easy and nice to sing... and everyone knows how to sing it!

Hehehe.. Hui Ching loves this song very much!
So most of us sang together... hehe cover cover my voice la kan~~ =P

Seow May and Jeevithra sang together... forgot what song... lol

Purposely called for room service... so that the guy could help us snap some group photos!

Linda... Another friend whom I've lost contact since Standard 5...
Hardly can recognize her! She's so tall now btw... XD
Makes me realized most of my SP friends are tall girls...

Spice Girls of the day...All skirts... Well... Linda insisted her top can be considered as a dress too...lol

After that, Jo and Linda went off first... The rest of us went for early dinner...
Shin Na wanted to try the Java Bistro I mentioned earlier....
And since it's the nearest to Village Mall... we went there...

That time was 6pm ++... and I always wondered why is the shop named 'Java Bistro' when the big, front sign says 'Thousand Taste Cafe'.... Now I know!

From morning till 7.30pm, the shop is called 'Thousand Taste Cafe' while after 7.30pm it's called 'Java Bistro'! Seems that there're 2 bosses there...

The morning till evening boss is a grumpy one...
Oh my goodness!!
The service is so so different!
Since it was yesterday's story... and my disatisfactions and anger had been erased...
I'm lazy to go very detail about it...

In short, the food sucks... at least Shin Na's was okay... only she enjoyed her food...
Haha... Mine was so so damn horrible!
The chef was rude and he doesn't know a word of English... and he speaks Cantonese... Maybe Mandarin too... My friends and I don't really speak Mandarin either so I went on speaking to the waitress instead of the chef in Eng...
The chef was dressed messily... he smokes... he's quite young!

The waitress... recommended me Salmon Fried Rice... which turns out to be a BIG NO-NO for me... it tasted bitter... and when I asked for soy sauce(kicap)... I should have tasted it first!!! I poured some on the rice and it became ULTIMATELY SALTY... I used the miso soup to dilute it... End up I had to SWALLOW all my food so that it didn't go to waste... and gulped it down by drinking my Hawaiian Lemonade... only the drinks are good...

7 of us were there... Shin Na ordered a different set while the rest of us had ordered 2 sets of each 3 other kinds... Only 1 set of each kind was served and my other 3 friends waited for an hour for their meals...

That time was already 7.30pm... we could have ordered the Java Bistro's food instead... But seems like the chef was already preparing the other 3 sets... What took him an hour to cook fried rice only???
BECAUSE HE FREAKINGLY MISSED THE WORD TWO SETS EACH...
He thought only one each so... one it is... (=.=)"
A mistake which I don't think a chef should have done... he came out smoking after cooking the first 4 sets(+ Shin Na's)... we were wondering why was he so free when the other 3 weren't even served yet...

Girls! So sorry ya to bring you all to such place... next time... it will be after 7.30pm... food is better at night... @.@
Because it's a DIFFERENT CHEF!

That evening there's a band playing....The music was too loud.... it drowned the singer's voice...
so no comment...

My so-called RECOMMENDED Salmon Fried Rice...

Seems that my family had a terrible dinner elsewhere too... well... family must stick together!
No matter it's easy or hard!
So my whole family had a terrible dinner in the same night...
